Michelle Botha is an international management education professional with 8 years’ experience in the field. Prior to working in higher education, she worked for 5 years in the financial services sector. Since 2010, she has worked as a consultant and researcher in higher education recruitment, placement and admissions. In addition to her work at HEC MBA where she runs employability training, her recent projects have included: functioning as EFMD’s expert on the EU Virtual Internship Project, where she was responsible for the project’s exploitation strategy; acting as a senior consultant for My Best Application – an MBA admissions advisory start-up – and serving as a researcher and project manager in the field of HR branding and recruitment for Petrus Communications.
From 2004 until 2009, Michelle was an Executive MBA program director. At Georgetown University (USA), she marketed and directed the Georgetown-ESADE Global Executive MBA; successfully launching the new program in 2008 in partnership with ESADE Business School (Spain). At the University of Lausanne, she managed the transformation of the full-time MBA program into a semi-specialized Executive MBA program in 2006, effectively rebuilding the reputation of the institution’s MBA degree and contributing to HEC Lausanne’s EQUIS accreditation. Michelle developed her passion for executive education when she studied at HEC Paris where she obtained her MBA in International Management in 2004. Before receiving her business degree, she was a customer relationship and project manager for international change projects at the London office of Euronext Paris (now part of NYSE Euronext). She also coordinated the company’s English communications for the electronic clearing project from 1998 to 2000 in Paris.
Michelle’s initial training was in technical and economic translation at the prestigious Ecole d’Interprètes et de Traducteurs (ESIT – La Sorbonne Nouvelle). She speaks English, French, Spanish and Afrikaans. She is currently learning German.
